Pot Luck Picnic at Mauna Kea Park following the protest

(car pools leave Hilo bayfront parking lot makai/Hamakua side of Pauahi St. Kamehameha Ave. intersection at 9AM sharp. Bring water, sunscreen, and be prepared for cool, possibly wet, weather) This is a peaceful, non-violent protest, in solidarity with global anti-drone protests taking place throughout the month of April. Please show respect to all, even those that disagree with us.

Pohakuloa is the largest U.S. live-fire training area outside the U.S. It is 133,000-acres, nearly 5 times the size of Kaho’olawe. The base is known to be contaminated with Depleted Uranium (DU) and other military toxins. Continued live-fire, and other activities that create dust, risks spreading the radiation and other toxic contamination.

Pohakuloa is also used for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (Drone) training. The U.S. is using drones in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan, the Philippines, etc. for surveillance and targeted assassinations, including Americans. Thousands of people, including many innocent children, have been killed by U.S. drones resulting in increasing hatred of the U.S. around the world.

We pray that the U.S. not do to others what the U.S. has already done and continues to do to Hawaii: unlawfully occupy its government and nation, desecrate its sacred sites, contaminate its air, land, water, people, plants, and animals with military toxins.

Ground the Drones!

Void the Unlawful Military Lease now!

Pohakuloa is a place for peace & healing!

U.S. Tax Dollars at Work!

MURDERING CHILDREN AS FOREIGN POLICY

AfghanChildren

More “collateral damage” in Afghanistan this morning, (April 8, 2013) as al Jazeera reports “There were conflicting figures of the death toll, but Karzai’s office later said 11 people were killed – all of them children – and six women were wounded” [photo above]  President Karzai did his usual condemning act in his role of pretending he is not a US puppet.

We will be told by President Obama, if he even notices, that this was an accident, and that when we bomb houses without knowing who’s inside and later find out, to our surprise, that not all who died were scary al Qaeda terrorists, it’s simply regrettable.  Tomorrow we will do this again, and the next day, and the next.  Mainstream media will not notice there’s anything wrong with this, but relatives and fellow villagers will know who the enemy is, and commit to helping insurgents all they can, to the delight of the Nuclear Mafia, who clean up from endless war as they finance the political campaigns of our elected officials.

Where is Justice for Abel and the Kalo?

Monday, April 8th, 2013

The photo below is a float from the Saturday, April 6, 2013 Merrie Monarch parade in Hilo.  On the float is Uncle Abel Simeona Lui with some youth and plants of kalo –taro, etc. The day before, Abel and others were arrested on Hawaiian Kingdom Crown lands near the King Kamehameha statue in Hilo where they planted a “Kanaka Garden,” including kalo, coconuts, etc. The garden was destroyed by Hawaii county police and DLNR police. Abel and his ohana have been pushed off of his ancestral lands at Kawa in the Ka’u district of Hawaii Island by Big Island Mayor, Billie Kenoi.  Abel has been staying and taking care of the garden near the statue.
