Governor withdraws Carleton Ching’s name as DLNR head

This from Karen Chun

Thank you to all of you aloha aina warriors.  About an hour into today’s senate session, senate president Donna Mercado-Kim announced that governor Ige had withdrawn the Ching nomination.  We WON!!!

Inside sources tell me that although the vote was almost tie-tie, those in favor of confirming Carleton Ching had the edge.  And here’s where your participation made the difference:

The yes voters were afraid to go on record, knowing that the voters were so opposed and that there would be unending fallout over their vote!

So they prevailed upon governor Ige to withdraw the nomination.

You folks made this happen!

thank you so much!
