Non-violent Discipline & Principles

A Reminder!

It appears there may be a crackdown in NY Occupy Wall St. on Friday, and perhaps other places as well. It’s an important time to remind ourselves of non-violent principles; that if hostility is directed at us, we return aloha, and not engage in hostility ourselves. Do not return insult for insult, injury for injury. As Gandhi said, “an eye-for-an-eye only makes the whole world blind. Let us al…ways take the high road of non-violence and aloha. Let us feel the strength of solidarity of all those standing up non-violently around the world against greed, wars, and injustice; all those who have gone before us in the struggles for justice and peace — Gandhi, Martin Luther King, etc. And in Hawaii, people like George Helm, Aunty Emma DeFreeze, and other kupuna. Let us walk gently on this ‘aina in the footsteps of our ancestors, but let us stand firm –Onipa’a.  Mahalo for your understanding, solidarity, and aloha.
