When will we put an end to war?

Memorial Day!

Let us remember loved ones and the tragedy of war!

memorial day

Since 1900, more than 80 million people have been killed in wars worldwide, hundreds of millions have been injured and made refugees, and tens of trillions of dollars have been spent on wars.  Tragically, things are not getting better.

United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon recently said: “Human suffering from the impacts of armed conflicts and disasters has reached staggering levels.” He documented his statement with specific figures: nearly 60 million people, half of them children, have been forced from their homes due to conflict and violence. As if this was not enough, the UN chief talked about another man-made tragedy: In recent years hundreds of millions of people are being affected by disasters at an annual cost to the global economy that now exceeds 300 billion dollars.  http://www.ipsnews.net/2016/05/human-suffering-has-reached-staggering-levels/
