The U.S. Backed Coup in Bolivia! Nov. 15, 2019 Hilo Peace Vigil leaflet
Tuesday, November 12th, 2019The U.S. Backed Coup in Bolivia!
Lithium – New Oil!
But you wouldn’t know it from reading mainstream media headlines or watching TV news.
What we read and hear is that Bolivia President, Evo Morales, resigned following accusations of election fraud. Little or nothing about a military coup backed by violent right-wing rioters and the U.S. Government. Nothing about Morales as the indigenous leader of a socialist South American government which has successfully lifted masses of people out of crushing poverty, which happens to control some of the world’s largest reserves of lithium (which may one day replace oil as a crucial energy resource due to its use in powering smartphones, laptops, hybrid and electric cars), which has an extensive and well-documented history of being targeted for regime change by the US government. The photo below of Bolivia President Evo Morales Calling Out U.S. Foreign Policy as Trump, Pompeo, etc. listen to a UN Security Council Meeting put a target on Morales’ back. How dare people speak truth to power!

Professor William Blum published a list of over 50 countries the U.S. has overthrown or attempted to overthrow, just since WWII. See the list here https://www.globalresearch.ca/overthrowing-other-peoples-governments-the-master-list-of-u-s-regime-changes/5400829
And of course, don’t forget the independent nation of Hawaii in 1893 whose government was overthrown by US business sugar interests with the assistance of US military troops. This illegal US overthrow and illegal occupation continue today — 126 years and counting. Where is the talk about “Upholding the rule of law?”
It’s all about theft and control of resources!
1. Mourn all victims of violence. 2. Reject war as a solution. 3. Defend civil liberties.
4. Oppose all discrimination, anti-Islamic, anti-Semitic, anti-Hawaiian, etc.
5. Seek peace through peaceful means and work for justice in Hawaii and around the world.
