Preventing Global Nuclear War!

God Help Us!

Climate disaster hurricanes Harvey, Irma, …, wild fires burning in multiple states, Trump ending DACA immigrant protection, and now possible global Nuclear War!

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is acutely aware of the brutal end of Iraq’s Saddam Hussein and Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi following U.S. military interventions, after they abandoned their so-called weapons of mass destruction.

“There is no other way to solve the North Korean nuclear issue, save that of peaceful dialogue” said Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin joined urgent calls for deescalation and diplomacy, deeming the military option “a dead end. “Ramping up military hysteria in such conditions is senseless,” Putin told reporters at the end of the 2017 BRICS Summit in Xiamen, China. “It could lead to a global, planetary catastrophe and a huge loss of human life,” Putin concluded.

China’s Ministry of Defense warned that China ‘would not allow’ US or South Korea troops to enter North Korea. People need to understand the history of the Korean war and how it shapes the current situation in Asia.

Diplomacy and Negotiations!

What’s needed? First, negotiate a decades-overdue armistice, mutual non-aggression pact among the two Koreas and the U.S. Then negotiate a global nuclear disarmament treaty, led by the leading nuclear armed powers – the U.S. and Russia. But Diplomacy not War will not happen without an aroused and reinvigorated global peace movement demanding action for planetary survival.

Where are U.S. voices for peace? One commentator said: U.S. people are too busy playing games on their cell phones and computers. Plus, as long as their beer is cold, and endless sporting events are on TV, people are distracted and sedated.

Future generations depend on us speaking up now!

No Nuclear War!      Peace Now!
