Record US Military Budget $858 BILLION vote

Following WWII, the Pentagon was supposed to become a medical facility. The late Peace Activist Father Daniel Berrigan said — well maybe it has. It appears to be an insane asylum with a single focus: war, war, and more war. This past week the US Congress approved an $858 BILLION military budget (NDAA), the largest military budget in history, and larger than the next 11 nations’ military budgets combined. The approval had overwhelming bi-partisan support. The vote was 83-11 in the Senate and 350-80 in the House. Bernie Sanders who voted NO called the Congressional vote a “Moral and Political Disgrace.”
Indeed it is a disgrace, especially given the need for preventing climate disasters and providing food, housing, medical care, and education to millions at home and around the world.
It appears Congress has a serious addiction to war and is in need of a 12-step healing program. All Hawaii Congress people — Ed Case, Kai Kahele, Brian Schatz, and Mazie Hirono voted FOR the $858 BILLION war budget, $45 Billion more than President Jow Biden requested.
It’s good to know who voted YEA and NAY on the NDAA.
