Chaos or Happy New Year?

Trump’s Exit: Be Prepared for Chaos including a US/Israel False Flag Iran Attack!

In the midst of the global Covid pandemic, one thing which unites the US Congress is an increasing War Budget. Meanwhile, an Israeli submarine, possibly carrying nuclear weapons, has crossed the Suez canal and headed for the Persian Gulf in a show of force to Iran. In a similar move, the US nuclear submarine, USS Georgia which can carry 154 Tomahawk missiles and 66 Special forces crossed the Strait of Hormuz (Iran’s front door). The US submarine was escorted by two cruisers, the USS Port Royal and the USS Philippine Sea. Jan. 3 will mark the 1 year anniversary of the US assassination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani. On Nov. 27, 2020 the assassination of Iran’s top nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, is widely attributed to Israel. Any further conflict with Iran could escalate quickly into a global nuclear war possibly involving Russia and/or China.

An Iranian official said “Israel is looking for excuses to drag the region into a tension that creates chaos in the last days of the Trump presidency,” the official told Aljazeera.

Much of the world sees the US and Israel as the greatest threats to peace on the planet.

Christmas Eve — Protecting Civil Liberties

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all,

Speaking of civil liberties,  I had to go to Hilo today (Thursday -Christmas Eve)) so I thought I’d take a few signs and some peace leaflets and spend about an hour at the downtown Hilo Post Office/Federal bldg handing out the leaflets that I normally do on Friday afternoons.  I figured there will be much less traffic tomorrow (Christmas day) than today.  Anyway I set up about 6 signs (Hilo Peace vigil, Aloha not War, Stop Bombing Pohakuloa, Don’t Glorify war, Peace on earth for all.)  I set up the signs on the grass alongside the street sidewalk outside the Post office.  Within a few minutes the Post Office security guard comes by and says it’s Thursday, not Friday.  You can’t have signs on the grass.  And he said I will have to start requesting a weekly permit for our continuing Friday weekly vigil.  Note this Friday –Christmas day 2020 will mark 1004 weeks of the vigil that started the day after 9-11.  Anyway I wished the guard Merry Christmas , moved the signs to the sidewalk and handed out about 100-150 leaflets from 1:15PM to about 2:30.  If anyone is free please come and join the peace vigil tomorrow –Christmas day from 3:30-5PM in Hilo.  Mahalo.

Jim

Merry Christmas!

Peace on Earth, Good Will to All!

It has been quite a year. We are in the midst of a global pandemic and economic crisis that has affected all of our lives, some more deadly and destructive than others. No one has been untouched. Many of us have lost loved ones. Many have been pushed to the financial margins where even the next meal and staying in our homes are now in question. Recent government relief measures are something, but not nearly enough.

In spite of everything, we have a lot for which to be thankful. Family, friends, faith, etc. Vaccines for the Pandemic are now being made available, though it will take considerable time for distributing to all who want to receive the vaccine. Meanwhile this holiday season is a dangerous time for pandemic spread if we do not wear masks, social distance, sanitize, and avoid close contact with family and friends. Sacrificing being in close contact is part of helping to protect one another. It is showing good will to all. It is a witness to peace on earth, rather than simply our own self interests.

Peace on Earth is built by service to others. So we share with people in need, in a spirit that unites us. In truth we are all connected, tied together like a Christmas wreath, as one human family and to the earth itself. By putting people’s health first, before economic interests, we will get through this. We will then have a lot of work to do to build a better world for future generations. A world with health care for all, food, housing, education, and income security. A world where we narrow the gap between rich and poor, put an end to war, and love one another and the planet that gives us life.

At present, resources that should be going to uplift the human condition and help heal the planet are being squandered on weapons of war, waging wars, and destroying the earth. We desperately need to be reborn in the Christmas spirit of “peace on earth, good will to all.” That spirit may be our best hope to heal and …..
