Please sign Military Human Experimentation Protest form

Tuesday, August 28th, 2018

Please sign and return this form by email or postal mail, or bring to the Wed. Aug. 29, 2018 Military meeting on Pohakuloa at the Imiloa Astronomy center 5-7PM.  Or the Kailua-Kona meeting: Thursday August 30, 2018 5:00-7:00 at the Paddler’s Room in the Courtyard Marriott King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel

US Army Garrison – Pohakuloa will be hosting public information forums to provide the public
an opportunity to learn about the training at Pohakuloa.
The 133 page Programmatic Agreement (PA) document released in advance does not mention DU used at Pohakuloa and is very light on specifics of training done at Pohakuloa
i.e. number of live rounds fired, B-52 and B-2 bombers training for nuclear war, etc…

MILITARY HUMAN EXPERIMENTATION?

Depleted Uranium Oxide (DU) at Pohakuloa Training Area

No comprehensive independent environmental survey has been done on the true risk of exposure to Depleted Uranium oxide particles from military training at the Pohakuloa Training Area (PTA). Until such an environmental survey is completed the true risk is really unknown. As long as the risk is unknown the possible exposure is really a human experiment, which must have informed consent prior to and throughout the activity. We the undersigned have never had the chance to give our informed consent to this ongoing experiment at PTA.  We ask that all activities that raise dust be suspended while we assess if everyone exposed freely gives consent after being fully informed.  These steps are in accordance with US and international ethical requirements for human experimentation.
