Pohakuloa is a Training

Ground for Nuclear War!

     Our world needs more Aloha and Ho’oponopono, more diplomacy, negotiations, and training for peace, not training for Nuclear Armageddon and the end of civilization. According to the US Congressional Budget Office, the US is projected to spend an amount approaching 1 TRILLION DOLLARS over the next 10 years on nuclear weapons, while an increasing number of people (Hawaii included) can’t afford food, housing, and other basic human needs. https://www.cbo.gov/publication/59054

Depleted Uranium Nuclear Weapon spotting rounds have been fired at Pohakuloa. Deadly radiation alpha particles, and other deadly toxins, blow in the wind, dust, and smoke off Pohakuloa. B-52 and B-2 Strategic Nuclear bombers fly non-stop training missions from Louisiana, Missouri, and Guam to practice bombing at Pohakuloa. All branches of the US military conduct war training at Pohakuloa. This month 29 countries, including Israel, will be conducting war training in and around Hawaii, including bombing and shelling at Pohakuloa as part of RIMPAC 2024. What a waste of resources! Amid a growing climate crisis, Pohakuloa is located in the dry, windy high-risk fire center of Hawaii Island. It is a Lahaina firestorm in the making. The military acknowledges that since 1975, more than 890 wildfires have been started by military training at Pohakuloa. A fire started at Pohakuloa in August of 2022, one year before the Lahaina fire, burned more than 17,000 acres, including more than 12,000 acres off the base in endangered species habitat. Speak up Now! Cancel, don’t renew the State lease at Pohakuloa.  Add your voice to the message –

     A RIMPAC protest will be held on Saturday, July 20th from 10 AM till Noon on Hilo Bayfront near the King Kamehameha Statue. Canceling the RIMPAC War Games Now & Forever, and cleaning up Hawaii’s many military toxic sites will be a Peace victory for all! Demilitarize Hawaii and end the illegal US military occupation of Hawaii Now! Give Peace a Chance!

     RIMPAC (Rim of the Pacific) is the worldʻs largest international maritime war exercise, held biannually since the early 1970s. Approximately 29 nations, 40 surface ships, 3 submarines, 14 national land forces, over 150 aircraft, and more than 25,000 personnel will participate in the RIMPAC 2024 exercise scheduled from June 27 to Aug. 1, in and around the Hawaiian Islands. Bombing and shelling at Pohakuloa is part of RIMPAC. Rimpac 2024 includes Israel.

     A RIMPAC protest will also be held Saturday, July 20 from 10 AM till Noon fronting the Kamehameha Statue on Hilo Bayfront. Canceling the RIMPAC War Games Now & Forever will be a Peace victory for all! Send this message to all government officials. Mahalo.

Dangerous Times!

The Israel/US war in Gaza appears to be expanding north to Lebanon and perhaps beyond.

The US proxy war in Ukraine against Russia appears to be expanding to more direct NATO involvement and the possible use of nuclear weapons –WWIII, and the end of civilization as we know it.

The US keeps poking China in the South China Sea, risking a major war by accident or design.

The bottom line is that the US wants to remain the sole unchallenged Global Empire, and like all empires, overextend, and collapse.

RIMPAC 2024

RIMPAC (Rim of the Pacific) are war games held every 2 years (June 26 to Aug. 2) that have expanded to include 29 nations, including NATO countries and Israel. These so-called “Games” sink ships, harm marine life, involve beach assault landings, and bombing and shelling at Pohakuloa in the center of Hawaii Island. RIMPAC involves human trafficking with 25,000 troops entering tourist areas.

Big Island RIMPAC Protests are planned for Saturday, July 6 from 10 AM till Noon at the Pohakuloa Main Gate. (Car pools leave Hilo from Komohana and Saddle Rd at 9 AM). Julian Assange, Wikileaks founder, and Australian citizen is finally free after more than 14 years of restrictions and imprisonment for exposing US & British war crimes in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. The late US whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg, who released “The Pentagon Papers” on the hidden history of the US war in Vietnam said that the U.S. effort to prosecute Julian Assange under the Espionage Act was a threat to journalism everywhere.
