Epidemic of birth defects in Iraq –DU?

Friday, March 15th, 2013

This article was in Al Jezeera this morning – www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinion/2013/03/2013312175857532741.html

I have sent the article to Dept. of Health Officials in Honolulu asking if there are increases in cancer and birth defects on Hawaii Island possibly linked to DU.

PS: here is an update from Diane who took the attached photos Diane was the first person to alert people to this accident just before 4:00pm.
Quick update: From Diane Thomas
I was smelling the H2S all the way up at my place a mile away!  Civil Defense returned my calls and had the Fire Marshall come out to assess with Mike Kaleikini and his co-worker with the monitor, just before 6:30pm, in response to my complaint filed.  By the time I got to the gate, the Fire Marshall already left!  H2S reading at my gate was 8-9 PPM.  Mike told me that the monitors were working and they went up to 19 PPM.

This morning, Dept. of Health returned my calls.  I spoke with Ed Yamamoto.  He said Mike did report the incident and “the AVERAGE reading was 19PPM, which is within their permit limit.”  I asked, “If that was the AVERAGE, what was the high???”  He didn’t have an answer for that.

On Iran, Syria, etc. — don’t be suckered into war!

Wednesday, March 13th, 2013

Don’t be fooled again!

Don’t be suckered into an Israeli/U.S. Attack on Iran! (Beware of a “False Flag” – an incident blamed on one country but created by another)

Official Lies led to the U.S. illegal war of aggression and occupation of Iraq10 years ago. Bush and Cheney lied when they said Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs) and that Iraq was connected to the U.S. 9-11 attacks in the U.S.. United Nations weapons inspectors and U.S. intelligence data did not support those statements, yet the Bush administration went forward with a criminal war for oil.

“My fellow citizens, at this hour, American and coalition forces are in the early stages of military operations to disarm Iraq, to free its people and to defend the world from grave danger… My fellow citizens, the dangers to our country and the world will be overcome. We will pass through this time of peril and carry on the work of peace. We will defend our freedom. We will bring freedom to others and we will prevail.” –George W. Bush – March 19, 2003

“Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it” Adolf Hitler

The war drums are beating for an Israeli/U.S. Attack on Iran, even though there is no evidence of Iran building nuclear weapons. Even if there was, there is no legal or moral basis for a pre-emptive attack on Iran. International law condemns a pre-emptive attack. The U.S. is the world’s greatest nuclear weapons power. Israel also has nuclear weapons. How hypocritical to be talking about Iran while ignoring U.S. and Israel nuclear weapons. International dialogue for peace with justice is what is needed. His Holiness the Dalai Lama has said,”war has become out dated… We must work to resolve conflicts in a spirit of reconciliation and always keep in mind the interests of others. We cannot destroy our neighbors. We cannot ignore their interests… Violence is now unsuitable. Non-violence is the appropriate method.”

A Nuclear-weapon-free world can be built region by region. Right now, a nuclear-free Middle East is urgently needed, and the U.S. and Israel have to take peaceful steps to help make this a reality. More violence is not the answer. Dialogue for peace with mutual respect is.

No More Lies! No More War!

1. Mourn all victims of violence. 2. Reject war as a solution. 3. Defend civil liberties. 4. Oppose all discrimination, anti-Islamic, anti-Semitic, anti-Hawaiian, etc.
5. Seek peace through justice in Hawai`i and around the world.
