U.S. Mainstream Media   Propaganda on Syria and Russia

     It seems the U.S. Mainstream Corporate Media (MSM) wants to blame Russia for nearly everything today. Russia (NOT US) did it they scream! War Crimes! Russia is blamed for exposing corruption in the Democratic National Committee that sabotaged Bernie Sanders run for President. We blame Russia for chaos in the Middle East really caused by U.S. regime change wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria and Yemen. Is regime change in Iran, Russia, and China next? We blame Russia for Wikileaks exposing information that citizens have a right to know in a Democratic society. We blame Russia for interfering in U.S. elections. Is Russia to blame for Donald Trump and Bill Clinton’s sex escapades and Hillary Clinton deleting 33,000 State Dept. emails about possible pay-to-play donations to the Clinton Foundation, providing arms to ISIS, what will benefit Israel, etc. that she didn’t want made public?

     The U.S. MSM is very good at blaming and demonizing others, especially people like Russian president, Vladimir Putin, and Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad. The real purpose is to attack anyone who opposes U.S. dominance as the world’s sole superpower. Somehow the U.S. believes it has the right to decide who should rule or not rule in countries all around the world. Who or what gives the U.S. that right?

     Don’t be fooled by MSM propaganda. Do we really want to provoke a war with Russia, a country that has 7000 nuclear weapons? Have we forgotten what massive destruction (the end of civilization) would result globally from a nuclear war?

     It’s time to come to our collective senses and put a stop to propaganda and the politics of nuclear brinkmanship. Former Soviet leader, Mikhail Gorbachev, warned this week about the rising threat of Nuclear war. He said “The World Has Reached A Dangerous Point.” Gorbachev urged the sides to resume dialogue and push towards demilitarization and complete nuclear disarmament.

Peace Now!   War is a Crime!   No More War!

Obama Should Pardon Whistleblowers

President Barrack Obama came into office with the promise of transparency, but he has prosecuted more whistleblowers than any president before him. Instead of demonizing these whistleblowers, he should pardon them for exposing secret government policies, actions, and crimes citizens have a right to know.

Their names are Stephen Kim, Jeffrey Sterling, John Kiriakou, Thomas Drake, Chelsea Manning, Edward Snowden, Julian Assange, etc. Most are government officials who talked with journalists and were charged under the Espionage Act for disclosures of information that were far less consequential than the classified emails that Hillary Clinton stored on her server at home or the top-secret war diaries that David Petraeus shared with his biographer and girlfriend. Petraeus, a former general and CIA director, got a fine for his transgressions. Clinton got a presidential nomination. These whistleblowers are good people who helped, not harmed, the cause of democracy by exposing government wrongdoing. It’s time that fairness for all becomes a hallmark of government and applied equally to whistleblowers. (See the movie SNOWDEN by Oliver Stone in theaters now.)

Hilo Peace Vigil leaflet (Oct. 7, 2016 – 785th week) – Friday 3:30-5PM downtown Post Office

Tuesday, Oct. 4th from 10-12 Office of Mauna Kea Management (OMKM) meeting at Institute for Astronomy 640 North Aohoku St. off Komohana just above Imiloa Astronomy.

This OMKM meeting is about several things but key are proposed new rules/guidelines about cultural features, offerings, building of ahu, etc.  It is using “CULTURE” to control traditional religious practice.  It appears to me they are using the word “culture” to make rules and regulations that they couldn’t get away with if they used the term “religious or spiritual.”  Government interfering in religious practice would be ruled unconstitutional.
