Best Christmas Gift We Can Give!

Tuesday, December 19th, 2017

Mele Kalikimaka!

Merry Christmas blessings to you and your loved ones in this Holy Season! “Peace on Earth, Good Will to All” is the spirit we need to carry in our hearts throughout the year. But we don’t have to look far to see that much work needs to be done to narrow the gap between word and deed.

The United States now has military operations of one sort or another underway in Afghanistan, Cameroon, Chad, Iraq, Libya, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines, Somalia, Syria, Uganda, and Yemen. Very likely, this is an incomplete list. Donald Trump’s first year set a record for U.S. Special Ops. Elite U.S. commandos are now deployed in 149 countries in 2017. Overall, the U.S. has 800 military bases worldwide, and many people in the Middle East now regard the United States as the greatest menace to peace they face. In short, U.S. policy is all military –all the time!

Let this sink in: the US Government Has Killed More Than 20 Million People In 37 “Victim Nations” SinceWW2 https://anewkindofhuman.com/3486-2/

Meanwhile, Philip Alston, the United Nations special rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights recently completed a fact-finding tour of the U.S. Alston said that Trump and the U.S. Republican led Congress are attempting to turn the U.S. into the “world champion of extreme inequality.” Among other things, the Republican tax bill rushed through Congress will widen the gap between rich and poor. While the billionare class increases, it’s been reported that 60% of American families would have difficulty meeting a $500 emergency need for funds.

This Christmas, let us rededicate our lives to work for justice, peace and caring for the planet. Future generations depend on the depth of our commitment, walking our talk, and putting words into action. This is the best Christmas gift we can give.
