Stop Killer Drones!

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED:

PEACE IS DRONE-

BOMBED

“A Pakistani government minister said the (U.S.) strike by an unmanned aircraft on Friday had destroyed attempts to hold peace talks with the militants which began this week.  Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, the interior minister, said: ‘This is not just the killing of one person, it’s the death of all peace efforts,'” relates a report from The Guardian this morning.

Many Pakistanis believe the American drone strike on Hakimullah Mehsud was intended to do just that, destroy the peace talks which were to begin yesterday.  Fearing a drone strike on the funeral, Mehsud was secretly buried under cover of darkness in the early hours yesterday.  Now it appears there will be no peace talks.

Three Pakistani Taliban commanders said they had been due to meet a government delegation on Saturday and they had been meeting to discuss the talks. They said they felt betrayed by Mehsud’s killing and were now not interested in talks.  A Pakistani Taliban spokesman vowed a wave of revenge bombings

“The government must stop the drone attacks before peace talks with Taliban,” Taliban spokesman Shahidullah Shahid told media. “Without ending these strikes, there will no dialogue, and attacks on the army and police will continue.”

It would appear the Empire has succeeded in both preventing peaceful negotiations and continuing the drone bombing that stirs up hatreds and foments that which our mainstream press label as “terrorism,” without including the drone attacks.(From: [libertyunderground] LUV News: 3 November, 2013)
