Please pass the word on the following upcoming RIMPAC protests: Updated Tuesday, July 12, 2016
1. Hilo sign holdings: Wednesdays –July 13, 20, 27 from 3-5PM at the intersection of Hilo Airport Rd and Kanoelehua
2. Kona sign holding: Thursday, July 14th 3:30-5PM highway fronting entrance to Kona airport
3. Pohakuloa main gate RIMPAC protest: Sunday, July 31st from 11AM- 12:30PM part of La Hoi Hoi Ea (Hawaiian Restoration Day)
4. Looking for radiation monitoring teams for east and west side of the islands (teams of 3-7 people would be good) Sat. July 16 and 23 in East Hawaii, Sun. July 17 and 24 in West Hawaii. email or call Jim if interested. 966-7622 or ja@malu-aina.org. Other dates encourages too.
5. Military convoy protests to Pohakuloa from Hilo or Kawaihae. Keep an eye out for notices in newspapers, on the radio and other media.
6. Question candidates: Do they support stopping all live-fire at Pohakuloa and clean up of DU at Pohakuloa as called for in Hawaii County Council resolution 639-08 passed on July 2, 2008 by a vote of 8-1.
7. Join the Malu ‘Aina weekly Hilo Peace Vigil 3:30-5PM every Friday at the downtown Hilo Post office on Waianuenue Ave. (Sign up on www.malu-aina.org to receive new posts, including each weeks new peace leaflet, now week 773)
8. Encourage others to view the 14 min. Pohakuloa video: Now that you know, do you care? Google “Pohakuloa video”
9. Stay tuned for more details on Aug. 30 March from Hilo to Pohakuloa.
