Upcoming RIMPAC Protests, Radiation Monitoring, and La Hoi Hoi Ea Day

Here is what came out of Monday night’s  (July 18th) Protest RIMPAC planning meeting at the Keaau Community center.  Please pass the word and join in when you can.

1.  Sign holding to protest RIMPAC 2016 and protect air, land and sea, people, plants and animals.  Wednesday, July 20 and 27th 3-5PM at Hilo airport intersection/Hwy 11  Let’s make RIMPAC 2016 the Last RIMPAC.

2.  Big island Radiation Monitoring  — East Side- Sat. July 23rd

8 AM at scenic point just north of Hilo on Hwy 19.

9:30 AM at Akaka Falls Park

11:30 AM Highway 11 median near Panaewa Zoo

3.  Big island Radiation Monitoring west side Sunday July 24th (those of us coming from east Hawaii meet at Komohana and Saddle Rd at 8AM for car pooling.  We will stop for a short protest   at Pohakuloa main gate around 9AM

10AM  at King’s trail  that crosses entrance road of Waikoloa Resort  near the King’s shops

12 noon at the sea wall in Kailua – Kona near Kailua pier

4.  Sunday, July 31 “La Hoi Hoi Ea — Hawaiian Restoration Day” Protest RIMPAC to Protect Pohakuloa at Pohakuloa main gate 11AM – 12:30 followed by flag ceremony at nearby Mauna Kea   Park.
