Three Minutes to Midnight!
Prevent World War III
& Global Nuclear Destruction
Many experienced people, including military men and women, who have lived through the various wars of the last 60 years are now saying that the risk of a global nuclear war is at an increasingly high level. Besides the growing reality of man-made climate disaster, a nuclear war poses the greatest threat to ending modern civilization and continued human existence on planet earth.
Presently nine countries are known to possess nuclear weapons: the U.S., Russia, China, Great Britain, France, Israel, India, Pakistan, and North Korea.
The possibility of nuclear war has been off the radar of most people for decades since the collapse of the Soviet Union. However, with increasing Mideast tensions in Syria between the U.S. and Russia, in Ukraine, and the U.S. military build up in the Pacific and Asia directed toward China, and North Korea, the risk of a nuclear flash point is ever present. The U.S. is planning on spending a TRILLION dollars on its nuclear weapon arsenal.
New “Dial a Nuke” weapons have various explosive power options, including smaller, more useable weapons, thus making nuclear war more thinkable in battlefield situations. The theory goes that nuclear war can now be “limited” and not necessarily “all out.” But who is going to be the referee once the nukes start flying? And won’t the losing side resort to bigger, more destructive weapons?
The real solution is a global treaty to ban all nuclear weapons, first use, second use, and all use of nuclear weapons. The U.S., the only nation on earth to ever use nuclear weapons in war (on Hiroshima & Nagasaki killing hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians), has a responsibility to take the lead to make the abolition of nuclear weapons a reality. Instead of building weapons of war, fund human needs and build a more just world. All people have a human right to live in peace.
