Lā Ku`ako`a, Hawaiian Independence Day
On this date 175 years ago the Hawaiian Kingdom became part of the “Family of Nations” and the first non-white country to do so with the signing of the Anglo-Franco proclamation recognizing the independent sovereign Kingdom of Hawai`i and it’s monarch, Kauikeaouli, known as Kamehameha III, today is known as Lā Ku`ako`a, Hawaiian Independence Day
