Hawaii County Mayor Harry Kim’s vision of Mauna Kea

I watched the whole 37 min of this video by Big Island Video News. The last 13 min — the section 24 -37min is really about TMT.

While Kim recognizes the illegal overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom as an independent nation, he cities the apology bill of Clinton, and now it’s go forward with TMT and education.

In my view Harry’s “Vision” for Mauna Kea is nothing more than sugar coated desecration of Hawaii’s most sacred temple.  If Harry wants peace, his vision for Mauna Kea needs to be built on a foundation of justice.  That means for a start — NO TMT.  Stop Bombing Pohakuloa and have the military clean up their toxic mess.  Then we can begin to talk peace.
