“Experience Pohakuloa Day” Protest Thursday, April 18
Stop the Bombing! Protect Pohakuloa
& the health and safety of our children
There will be a peaceful protest to Stop Bombing Pohakuloa outside the base main gate on Saddle Rd from 9-1PM on Thursday, April 18, 2019. Please help pass the word.
On Thursday, April 18, 2019 the 133,000-acre military Pohakuloa Training Area (PTA) is hosting an “Experience Pohakuloa Day” event at the base from 9AM till 1PM. School children, parents and people from the community are being invited on base. It should be noted that Pohakuloa is a hazardous toxic waste dump from more than 75 years of live-fire training by a vast range of weapons by the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. More than 14 million live-rounds are fired annually at Pohakuloa. Everything from small arms to large bombs, including Depleted Uranium radiation weapons have been used at PTA. Below is a short public service announcement with a link to a video by Dr. Lorrin Pang, MD, retired Army medical Corps about the dangers of inhaling small particles of DU oxide that can be carried long distances by the winds. Please share this PSA widely, especially with parents who have school children that may be considering a visit to Pohakuloa. Also below is a flyer about the Pohakuloa Protest.
Hope to see you in protest at Pohakuloa on Thursday, April 18th.
Mahalo and solidarity for helping to pass the word.

Parents of young children and pregnant women are warned of the dangers of DU (Depleted Uranium) and other military toxins at the Pohakuloa Training Area!
Please view the short video of Dr. Lorrin Pang, M.D., public health officer and retired Army Medical Corps explaining the health dangers of inhaling DU oxide dust particles (See https://vimeo.com/19153948). As Dr. Pang explains, especially vulnerable are young children and pregnant women.
Allowing children in your care to attend programs at Pohakuloa, especially during live fire training, unnecessarily puts them at risk. Mahalo.
