Diplomacy Not War!
The escalating US proxy war with Russia in Ukraine, and growing tensions with China to maintain US global domination, risk global nuclear war by miscalculation, accident, or design. The urgent task is to defuse this risk and build a multi-polar world through diplomacy and negotiations.
In 1961, President John F. Kennedy asked his Joint Chiefs: “If your plans for nuclear war are carried out as planned, how many people will be killed in the Soviet Union and China?” The Joint Chiefs’ response was “roughly 600 million,” including collateral damage. A hundred Holocausts. p. 3 in the book –“The Doomsday Machine – Confessions of a Nuclear War Planner” by Daniel Ellsberg. The world’s population in 1961 was 3 Billion people. In 2023, the world’s population will be 8 Billion.
China’s Proposed 12-Point Peace Plan!
The proposal sets forth principles and objectives to resolve the conflict without specifying what might be the negotiated political solutions. These principles and objectives include: Respecting the sovereignty of all countries, Abandoning the Cold War mentality, Ceasing hostilities, Resuming peace talks, Resolving the humanitarian crisis, Protecting civilians and prisoners of war, Keeping nuclear power plants safe, Reducing strategic risks, Facilitating grain exports, Stopping unilateral sanctions, Keeping industrial and supply chains stable and Promoting post-conflict reconstruction.
The proposal provides short explanations of each of the above. Under Reducing strategic risks, for example, the proposal says that “Nuclear weapons must not be used and nuclear wars must not be fought. The threat or use of nuclear weapons should be opposed.”
What is the US Peace Plan?
Weapons, Weapons, and More Weapons?
1 . Mourn all victims of violence. 2. Reject violence & war as solutions. 3. Defend civil liberties.
4. Oppose all discrimination: anti-Islamic, anti-Semitic, anti-Hawaiian, anti-Black, anti-Asian, anti-Russian, anti-LGBTQ, etc. 5. Seek peace through peaceful means and work for justice in Hawai`i and around the world.
