Sept. 21, 2023 International Day of Peace

Sept. 21, 2023, International Day of Peace!

A small group gathered at 10 AM at Gil Kahele Park in the center of Hawaii Island for a dedication of a Rotary Club Peace pole –“May Peace Prevail on Earth.”  Then an even smaller group stood from 10:30 to noon outside the main gate of Pohakuloa Toxic Area (PTA) with banners and signs –“Stop Bombing Pohakuloa, Cancel Pohakuloa Lease, Make Hawaii & the Pacific Nuclear Free, Ban DU Weapons, etc.”

Two of those participating were Jack and Felice Cohen-Joppa, from Tucson, Arizona, founders and editors of The Nuclear Resister.  Check out nukeresister.org.  Jack and Felice will speak at a Malu ‘Aina Peace Organizing meeting on Monday, Sept. 25th from 6:30 – 7:15 PM at the Kea’au Community Center.  All are welcome.
