Support Bill to ban GMO’s 9AM Today

Your support is needed to ban GMO’s in Hawaii county.  9 AM Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013

This is the LAST meeting for GMO Bill 113 & a VOTE – We NEED a couple of hundred people to SHOW UP…. or this bill could die. PLEASE be there if you can, PLEASE encourage others to BE THERE, too! The meeting is in Kona but show up at any of the other county offices too –Hilo, Pahoa, Waimea, Ocean View.

If you haven’t testified, you still can. If you do, please keep it short, so they will have time to vote. MOSTLY, WE NEED YOUR WARM BODY IN THOSE CHAIRS!!!  It’s the ONLY THING that will save this bill. PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hearing on Hawaii County Bill to Ban GMO -Tues. Oct. 15th

GMO 4PM Hearing Tuesday, Oct. 15th

Please go to the Hawaii County Council hearing on Tuesday, Oct. 15th at 4PM in Kona, or go to one of the county satellite sites around the island, –Waimea, Hilo, Pahoa to testify in support of Bill 113 Draft 2 to ban further GMO plantings in Hawaii County.  This is a very significant step for the future of Hawaii County and the world.
Dennis “Fresh” Onishi has introduced several amendments which appear to broaden the exemptions, requires no registration, and waters down the intent of law.  I do not support these amendments.
Please pass the word to others and encourage them to attend even if they do not intend to testify.

Aloha Council members,

Please support Bill 113 Draft 2
I oppose the amendments in Comm. 393.52/393.53/ 393.54/ 393.55

I believe Bill 113 Draft 2 is an important stand for the democratic rights  of citizens of Hawaii county against the overdue influence of corporate agribusiness.  Bill 113 is an important step to  protect Hawaii County and the planet from the toxic influence of GMO crops.

By passing Bill 113 draft 2 we are saying  STOP the continued corruption of our democracy by corporate money, stop the poisoning of our environment,  stop the loss of biodiversity and the continued assault on the basic rights of farmers and citizens around the world by GMO corporations such as Monsanto.

Hawaii County can be a model of sustainability for the world.  Passing Bill 113 draft 2 is a very positive step in the right direction.
