The Oct. 16, 2024, Hawaii County Council 9 AM meeting on Bill 206 to restore the County’s Nuclear-Free Law (Repeal the Military Exemption) will be held in Kailua-Kona at the
West Hawaii Civic Center 74-5044 Ane Keohokalole Highway, Building A
 
People can also testify at the following locations around the island:
• Hilo Council Chambers, Hawaii County Building,25 Aupuni Street, Room 1401
Public attendance via Courtesy is available at the following locations:
• Old Kohala Courthouse, 54-3900 Akoni Pule Highway, Kapa`au;
• Pahoa Council Office, 15-2879 Pahoa Village Road;
• Lily Yoshimatsu Senior Center, 67-1199 Mamalahoa Highway, Waimea; and
• Ocean View Community Association, 92-8924 Leilani Circle.

Among the topics of discussion: Restoring Hawaii County’s Nuclear-Free Zone law (Repealing the Military Exemption). Public Hearing Wed. Oct. 16th 9AM. There will be a Peace organizing meeting Monday, Oct. 14th from 6 -8 PM at the Kea’au Community Center. Among the topics of discussion: Genocide in Gaza and widening Mid-East War, Restoring Hawaii County’s Nuclear-Free Zone law. Public Hearing Wed. Oct. 16th, 9AM. Good News: Bill No. 206 passed the Policy Committee on Health, Safety, and Well-Being on Oct. 1st by a vote of 7-0. Now Bill 206 will go before the full Council in Kona at 9 AM on Oct. 16 and Hilo on Oct. 30 (time not yet known). Please mark your calendars and try to testify in person or by video from various Council offices around the island at both the Oct. 16th and Oct. 30th Council meetings. For questions on the bill or sites to testify call the County Clerk’s office at 808-961-8255
