Hawaii State House CEASEFIRE Resolution on Gaza

Send in testimony in support of SCR 13 UNAMENDED for an Immediate and Permanent Ceasefire in Gaza — by Thursday, April 18th 10 AM Send to capitol.hawaii.gov
Below is my testimony sent to capitol.hawaii.gov

Wed. April 17, 2024, at 4:30 PM
Aloha Legislators,
I speak in strong support of SCR13 unamended calling for an immediate and permanent CEASEFIRE in Gaza to stop the killing, starvation, and Genocide taking place as we speak. I am proud of Hawaii County passing a similar resolution and the State Senate as well. With the House passage of this resolution, this will be a powerful statement to the US Congress and the world to follow.
An immediate and permanent Ceasefire is an important first step to get massive humanitarian aid to Gaza to prevent further starvation. It is also an important step to gain the release of all hostages and prisoners and to prevent a widening war in the Middle East. A Ceasefire is what Gaza and the whole Middle East need now. Frankly, a Ceasefire is what the whole world needs now. Mahalo for taking this action for a Ceasefire and Peace. It is a blessing and a victory for All.

No More War!

No More Weapons!

Peace Now!

On April 1, 2024, Israel attacked Iran’s Embassy/Consulate in Damascus, Syria with missiles killing several people, including an Iranian top General. On April 14th Iran fired missiles and drones at Israel. Fortunately, no one was killed. What’s next? A wider regional war? A Global Nuclear War? Our world needs a CEASEFIRE and negotiations for peace, not more war and weapons in the Middle East between Israel, Hamas, Iran, etc. Ukraine, Russia, NATO, and the US, between the US, China, Taiwan, etc. Remember what Mahatma Gandhi said: “An eye-for-an-eye will only make the whole world blind.” Or worse!

1 . Mourn all victims of violence. 2. Reject violence & war as solutions. 3. Defend civil liberties.
       4. Oppose all discrimination: anti-Islamic, anti-Semitic, anti-Hawaiian, anti-Black, anti-Asian, anti-Russian, anti-LGBTQ, etc. 5. Seek peace through peaceful means and work for justice in Hawai`i and around the world.
