Survey Says … Hawaii Is Corrupt!

Reporters across the country were asked about their perceptions of corruption in government. The Aloha State did not fare well.

I saw this article after I wrote this week’s Hilo Peace Vigil leaflet on Oligarchy (corruption).  It fits right in.  Please read and pass on. Mahalo.

Overthrow the Oligarchy

  Democracy Now!

http://journals.cambridge.org/action/displayAbstract?fromPage=online&aid=9354310

oligarchy
“The U.S. is no democracy, but instead an oligarchy, meaning profoundly corrupt…” is the finding of a study in the academic journal Perspectives on Politics.

“The authors of this historically important study are Martin Gilens and Benjamin I. Page, and their article is titled “Testing Theories of American Politics.” The authors clarify that the data available are probably under-representing the actual extent of control of the U.S. by the super-rich. (.1of 1% controls about as much wealth as the bottom 90% U.S. combined.) http://www.truth-out.org/opinion/item/35666-is-the-1-really-the-problem

“The clear finding is that the U.S. is an oligarchy, no democratic country, at all. American democracy is a sham, no matter how much it’s pumped by the oligarchs who run the country (and who control the nation’s “news” media)… Today, after this exhaustive analysis of the data, “the preferences of the average American appear to have only a minuscule, near-zero, statistically non-significant impact upon public policy.” That’s it, in a nutshell.” http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article44504.htm

According to former President, Jimmy Carter (1977 to 1981), the American Essence or value has been compromised through “unlimited political bribery” using “unlimited money” by “oligarchs” to elect their chosen politicians to office. The system subverts the American definition of Democracy… http://yournewswire.com/jimmy-carter-the-u-s-is-completely-subverted-by-oligarchs/

Pohakuloa Sham Earth Day Celebration

The Hawaii Tribune Herald had an article on page A-6 yesterday (April 21, 2016) about Pohakuloa having an Earth Day celebration today, April 22.
Can you imagine such hypocrisy?  Here is a place where upwards of 14 million live rounds are fired annually by the US military and is contaminated with a wide range of military toxins, including Depleted Uranium (DU), lead, etc.  Bombing the sacred ‘aina is the daily routine.  Such a sham earth day celebration is worse than the cartoon below.
