Who’s Next on the War Hit List?

Tuesday, November 21st, 2017

                           WAR –Who’s Next:

  Iran, Lebanon, Korea…?

(Beware of a “False Flag” (covert operation designed to deceive and trigger coming wars.)

Very few Americans realize that the U.S. CIA orchestrated the overthrow of the democratically elected government of Iran, lead by Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh in 1953 and installed a brutal dictator, Mohammad Reza, known as the Shah of Iran. The Shah was finally overthrown by an Iranian revolution in 1979.

In the Korean war, U.S. Army General Curtis Lemay estimated the US “killed off”(millions) some “20% of the [North Korean] population.” Lemay said “We burned down every town in North Korea and South Korea too.” Dean Rusk, who later became a Secretary of State, said the US targeted and attempted to execute every person “that moved” in North Korea, and tried to knock over “every brick standing on top of another.”

Stop Navy Bombing & Sonar!

An article in the Nov. 11, 2017 Hawaii Tribune-Herald “Public Skeptical about Navy training plans” A-3 reported on the only public meeting held Nov. 9th on the Big island about the Navy’s Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) about Navy bombing and sonar plans in an around Hawaii and the west coast U.S. The public testimony went on for several hours with each testifier limited to 3 min. Every testimony was AGAINST Navy plans. No one spoke in support. No one believed the military claims of being “responsible stewards.” The Navy’s record speaks for itself –Pearl Harbor pollution and destruction of fish ponds, nuclear waste dumped in Hawaiian waters, massive fuel storage leaks, the bombing of Kaho’olawe, which is still a military mess after $400 million has been spent on clean up there. Former Navy bombing sites on Hawaii island are still in need of unexploded ordnance and other military toxin clean up.

Malu ‘Aina encourages you to send in testimony urging the “No Action” Navy alternative. Enough already. Send in your testimony by Dec. 12, 2017 to https://hstteis.com/Public-Involvement/Public-Comment. The full Navy EIS can be downloaded at https://hstteis.com/Documents/2017-Hawaii-Southern-California-Training-and-Testing-Draft-EIS-OEIS/Draft-EIS-OEIS

Protect Pohakuloa!

Protect People, Plants & Animals on Land & Sea!

The Army’s Pohakuloa Training Area (PTA) has just completed an Environmental Assessment (EA) on “Managing Cultural resources.”  The document says “the general objectives of the cultural resources management program are to eliminate impacts to the military missions arising from cultural resources…” according to a front page article in the Nov. 11, 2017 Hawaii Tribune-Herald. Shouldn’t that be the other way around – eliminate impacts to cultural resources from military missions? Or do military missions trump all?

Malu ‘Aina urges public meetings on Hawaii island for community feedback. The military PTA Public Affairs officer, Eric Hamilton, says such meetings are not required, therefore none are planned. His phone numbers are 969-1966 office, and 824-1474. For people off island dial 1-808 first. Email for Eric Hamilton usaghi.pao.comrel@us.army.mil

Our overall demands are Stop All Live-Fire Training at PTA, Clean-Up of the military created toxic mess at PTA, including Depleted Uranium radiation contamination, and then Shut-Down PTA. Meanwhile, the military should provide access to cultural and religious sites in this sacred area “Pohakuloa—the Land of the Night of Long Prayer” and immediately stop further desecration of this sacred heavenly realm located between Mauna Loa and Mauna A Wakea. The public comment deadline for the EA is Dec. 7, 2017.

The 212-page Army environmental assessment can be found at https://www.garrison.hawaii.army.mil/NEPA/NEPA.htm

Comments can be emailed to usaghi.pao.comrel@us.army.mil or mailed to: Directorate of Public Works, U.S. Army Garrison, Hawaii Environmental Division (IMHW-PWE) 947 Wright Ave., Wheeler Army Airfield Schofield Barracks, HI 96857-5013.
