War: Who Profits, Who Pays?
JAVELIN & the Costs of War!
As April 15, 2016 tax-day approaches, ask the question: Who profits and who pays for war with their dollars, environment, and their lives. The Javelin, shown above, is manufactured by Lockheed Martin, the largest arms maker in the world. For them, war is very profitable. For the veteran, and other victims of war, including the tax payer, and the earth itself, war is very costly.
What former U.S. President, and Army General, Dwight David Eisenhower said many years ago still stands the test of time:
“Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense a theft from those who are hungry and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed. This world of ours is not spending money alone – it is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists –the hopes of its children… This is not a way of life at all in any true sense…”
Make Peace! Stop the War Machine!
- Mourn all victims of violence. 2. Reject war as a solution. 3. Defend civil liberties.
4. Oppose all discrimination, anti-Islamic, anti-Semitic, anti-Hawaiian, etc.
5. Seek peace through justice in Hawai`i and around the world.
