Military Special Ops Planned for all Hawaiian Islands
Come on elected officials: Stand up, speak up against military intrusion everywhere. Stop this madness! The potential for panic and the potential for unintended violent clashes from frightened locals or tourists if they see someone (Special Ops enemy role player) with a gun at Mauna Kea Park playground, or elsewhere, should not be taken lightly. Jim Albertini
Military Special Ops Planned for all Hawaiian Islands
Air, land, and sea, near shore waters and shorelines – Even in County Parks, and the slopes of Sacred Mauna Kea!
Hawaii is one of, if not, the most densely militarized places on the planet. Now the military wants to expand beyond its more than 100 military installations, and conduct secret Special Operations throughout Hawaii.
Here is the link to the Navy’s Draft Special Ops Environmental Assessment (EA)
The public is encouraged to review and provide comments on the Draft EA through Dec. 10, 2018. Comments can be submitted by email to NFPAC-Receive@navy.mil or by mail to Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific, Attention: Project Manager, EV21.JZ, 258 Makalapa Drive, Ste 100, Pearl Harbor, Hi 96860-3134
Jim Albertini of Malu’Aina said this Special Ops Draft EA is directly related to another Navy 106 document about Navy Special Ops proposed training in and around Mauna Kea Recreation area on Saddle Road. It’s outrageous. It appears the Navy now wants to expand operations and conduct armed covert Special Ops in our Mauna Kea county park and on the slopes of Mauna Kea above the park. I say no way. The military needs to clean up its toxic messes including unexploded ordnance, Depleted Uranium (DU) radiation contamination, etc. all over Hawaii not expand its training into our parks, shorelines, and on the slopes of Sacred Mauna Kea. A map from the EA shows shoreline areas for Big island Special Ops besides the land training proposed in and around Mauna Kea Park.
