Demand Pohakuloa Water well test results of contaminants present!
Hilo Town Hall meetings with Sen. Kahele and Rep Todd Wed, May 15h 5:30PM UHH UCB 100
Sen Kahele and Rep. Chris Todd are heads of the State Legislature’s Water Committees. I have asked them in Feb. 2019 by phone calls and emails to their offices to obtain the water test results of the shallow water well (500-700 feet deep) drilled in 2013 at the Pohakuloa Training Area (PTA). The test results have never been made public. I suspect multiple toxins are present from military training , including Perchlorate used in rocket fuel and munitions, PFAS , lead, etc. When I saw the notice of the Hilo Town Hall meeting I sent a follow up email to each asking them to bring the PTA water well test results to the meeting. I hope you will be there at the town hall to join me in this effort to see the PTA water well test results. We have a right to know. How long do we have to wait for answers? Remember whatever takes place mauka, eventually comes makai. Water runs down hill! Pohakuloa is located at 6000 feet in the center of our island and there are MILLIONS of live-rounds fired there annually by all branches of the military. The bombing has been going on for 75 years.
Here is another military water contaminant to be concerned about –The toxins, collectively known as PFAS, have caused rampant pollution on military installations

The U.S. Military Is Poisoning Germany
By Pat Elder, Civilian Exposure. Germany is experiencing a public health crisis with millions of people potentially exposed to drinking water contaminated with Per and Poly Fluoroalkyl Substances, or PFAS. A major source of this chemical contamination comes from the aqueous film forming foam used in routine fire-training on U.S. military bases. After igniting, then dousing massive fires with the lethal foam containing PFAS, the American bases allow the poisons to leach into the groundwater to contaminate neighboring communities which use groundwater in their wells and municipal water systems. -more-
